The permanent exhibition installed at the ground-floor of the Károlyi castle comprises four thematic rooms approaching Carei’s past from multiple viewpoints: archaeology, local history, history of traditional handicrafts and ecclesiastic art and history. The themes had been chosen according to the specific aspects of local history significant for the past of the town. In this respect, the exhibition displays the most important regional phenomena among them the specificity, all integrated in a wide background of its development and historical influences.
